Art, Music and Design Technology
We value our children having opportunities to develop and demonstrate their creativity, whilst exploring the breadth and depth of the national curriculum. Through established and meaningful links with professionals both inside and outside of our school, we hope that our children will foster lifelong skills, confidence and passion within the creative arts and understand how every day and exceptional creativity can shape the world.

Music
We follow the Leicestershire Music scheme of work as a basis of covering the National Curriculum. This is a fully sequenced scheme which runs through the school. We enhance our learning by listening to a wide range of musical genres during our whole school assemblies.
In Year 5, we underpin this knowledge with a weekly whole class session from Leicestershire Music. This year, we are learning steel pans...and they sound amazing!
Children from Year 2 upwards also have the opportunity to learn an instrument with either individual or small group lesson taught by our peripatetic teacher Miss Kimberley. At the moment, we have children learning recorder, flute, clarinet and saxophone.
Additionally, we have a number of extra-curricular opportunities: steel pan club, recorder club and Y4-6 choir.
In September 2022, we achieved a Silver Music Mark, awarded by Leicestershire Music.
