Information regarding school closure 5th January 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
Following the announcement by the Prime Minister this evening that schools should move to remote learning from tomorrow, Newlands will not now reopen as planned tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow we would ask that all children who can stay at home do so. This will enable us to clarify critical worker/ vulnerable pupil status and then use this to organise the provision we will be able to offer to children who will be at home as well as those who will be able to come into school. Had this evening’s announcement come over the weekend we would obviously have completed this today.
If you are unable to keep your children at home and are a key worker then please let us know by 8:30am that you intend to send your child in using firstname.lastname@example.org. We will then open school at the later time of 9am to give us some time to organise these bubbles.
We will provide further updates tomorrow to clarify our plans. I know that the late notice of tomorrow’s closure will cause great difficulty. Please appreciate that the timescales here have been outside our control and we would have given you far more notice if we had been able to. We will now put into place the very best possible provision for our children. Please look out for further communication.
Take care and stay safe.
The Newlands Team
